Tell us what you’re reading, support the South Orange goal of reading 2,026 books!
Summer Events for Everyone

Registration is easy; simply visit either library location now through August 14th. The program is about having fun with reading and preventing the summer slide. See how you can be a part of it today.
Summer Reading Incentives
Reading is rewarding in itself, and when it’s done throughout the summer it can prevent the “summer slide” in youth, or in other words it can help to retain the knowledge and skills learned in the previous school year.
Keeping reading fun is an excellent way to nurture life-long reading. SOPL is incentivizing readers who participate by sharing the books or number of books they read. These books will help us reach the community reading goal of 2,026 books.
Everyone who visits the library and shares new books read on their reading lot, for children or teens, or a book review by an adult enter to win a prize. See your age category for prize claim specifications.

Unearth a Story for Adults
All adults are welcome! Simply choose option 1 or 2, submit a new entry as many times as you’d like, by dropping it off at either library location: the Baird Branch or 298 Walton Ave.
Every entry enters you to win a monthly prize AND the grand prize!
